Lorraine is a graduate of HEC Paris and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School in Boston. She kicked off her professional career in 2008 as Project Finance Manager for large infrastructure projects in Asia-Pacific in the Water Division of Veolia Environment, China. She became Chief of Staff to the CEO of Veolia Eau France in 2010. She joined Global Water Development Partners, an investment fund owned by the UK-based Blackstone Group, where she led investment projects in water and waste water treatment facilities. She joined Shanghai Winner Environmental Technologies in China in 2017 as Chief Strategy Officer in charge of partnership relations and then became a member of the Board of Directors. She joined the Michelin Group in China in 2018 as Corporate Development Director in charge of strategic partnerships. In 2019, she became Head of Corporate Strategy. Since January 2021, She has been appointed EVP, with oversight responsibility for the Strategy and the Innovation & Partnerships Corporate Directions, and the Services & Solutions and Distribution Business Lines.
In a variety of high-profile roles, Max has helped shape Robert Bosch’s strategy for successful operations and ongoing innovation, as well as build one of the most admired corporate cultures in the world, one that emphasizes diversity and inclusion and corporate social responsibility. Max is passionate about technology and innovation, guides internal startups through the Bosch Startup Platform, and regularly mentors external start-ups through Bosch’s partnerships with 1871 and TechStars.
Max currently serves as the chair of the Board of Directors of Inforum, a professional organization focused on creating strategic connections to help advance professional women in Michigan and the Midwest. She also serves on the Board of Directors for MTS Systems Corporation (Nasdaq: MTSC) and Horizon Global Corporation (NYSE: HZN). Max’s educational degrees include Industriekauffrau IHK and an advanced business administration degree with thesis, Diplom-Kaufmann, from the University of Munich.
Dr. Anuja Sonalker is the founder and CEO of STEER Tech. STEER is focused on developing secure self-driving technologies that will massively enable situationally aware, cyber robust automated driving applications. Dr. Sonalker brings experience from both the automotive industry and cybersecurity sector. Prior to STEER, Dr. Sonalker headed the Automotive Security Group in the Cyber Innovation Unit at Battelle where she patented and led advanced research in vehicular environments and transition to market strategies before moving onto TowerSec, an automotive cyber security company where she was V.P. of Engineering and Operations. During her career, Dr. Sonalker has established collaborative research efforts and strategic partnerships, provided project management, and helped set the strategic direction for the commercialization of technology. Dr. Sonalker is currently the Vice Chair of the SAE Vehicle Cybersecurity Systems Engineering Committee and Co-Chair of the ISO-SAE joint International standard on Automotive Cybersecurity Framework. Dr. Sonalker also serves on the Board of Directors of the Economic Development Authority of Howard County, Maryland. She holds a Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland College Park.
Sonia Rief is vice president, Vehicle Connected Services & Program Management Office for Nissan U.S. and Canada. She was appointed to this position in March 2019. In this role, Rief is responsible for managing vehicle line profitability and leading Nissan's Connected Services organization. Overseeing the Connected Service organization includes planning, delivery, marketing and operations for internal and external customer content. Previously, Rief was director, Program Management Office at the Nissan Technical Center North America (NTCNA) in Farmington Hills, Michigan, and was responsible for vehicle line profit management of mid-size sedans, and compact and mid-size SUVs.
Rief holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University and a MBA from the University of Michigan.
Tekedra N. Mawakana is the co-CEO of Waymo, an autonomous driving technology company with a mission to make it safe and easy for people and things to get where they’re going.. As co-CEO, Tekedra is responsible for overall company strategy, with her primary focus on ensuring Waymo’s transformational technology — the Waymo Driver — is commercialized and widely adopted. Tekedra has more than two decades of experience advising consumer technology companies on how to advance their business interests around the world and is an expert in navigating complex high-profile issues. She began her career working with regulated technology and telecom industries, and leading global technology transactions. She has served as a trusted advisor to CEOs managing growth and risk-mitigation strategies. Tekedra previously served as COO of Waymo. Prior to Waymo, Tekedra led global teams across five continents at eBay, Yahoo, AOL and Startec. She started her career at the DC-based law firm Steptoe & Johnson LLP.
Tekedra received her JD from Columbia Law School and her BA with honors from Trinity College.
Lisa Drake is chief operating officer, North America, effective May 1, 2020. She reports to Kumar Galhotra, Ford’s president, Americas & International Markets Group.
In this newly created role, Drake will bring enhanced focus to product launches, warranty reduction and material cost improvements. She also will place a renewed emphasis on returning the North America business back to a 10-percent EBIT margin through her work on cost and waste reduction. Previously, Drake served as vice president, Global Purchasing, responsible for all category management processes and procurement functions across direct and indirect purchasing areas as well as supplier technical assistance. She also served as vice president, Global Powertrain, responsible for all powertrain purchasing operations worldwide. She joined purchasing in 2013 as director, Global Program Purchasing, and also served as director, Global Interior Purchasing, a position she held since August 2016. In addition to her work with hybrid and plug-in hybrids, Drake led the development of the Focus Electric and the Transit Connect Electric.
Drake joined Ford in 1994 as a Ford College Graduate in powertrain engineering. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
In 2019, after more than a decade of working at Intel, Aicha Evans was tapped as the CEO of Zoox, a self-driving startup company with a mission to provide safe, clean and enjoyable transportation to the world.. Founded in 2014, Zoox has been testing its autonomous vehicles, commonly referred to as robo taxis, in Las Vegas and San Francisco, and for the past two years Ms. Evans has been leading the company’s efforts to expand.
Last year, she led the company sale to Amazon, who purchased Zoox for $1.2 billion.
Before joining Zoox, Ms. Evans, who studied computer engineering at GW, worked for several tech companies, including Intel, where she worked for 12 years. There, she served as the general manager of the communications and devices groups before being promoted senior vice president and chief strategy officer. She remains an executive at Zoox.
Michelle Epstein Taigman is General Counsel of HARMAN, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. Michelle leads HARMAN's global legal organization and is responsible for all of HARMAN's legal matters, including corporate transactions, litigation, intellectual property, insurance and risk management, corporate governance and regulatory compliance. Michelle also leads the development of legal policies and tools to address forward-looking business opportunities in key strategic areas. She reports to President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Mauser and is a member of the Senior Leadership Committee (SLC).
Prior to HARMAN, Michelle was Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Federal-Mogul Motorparts LLC. Michelle also had a distinguished career in private legal practice, formerly being a partner at Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn, LLP, based in Detroit, Michigan. Michelle earned her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and received a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Michigan.
Pamela Fletcher, Vice President of Global Innovation and Research & Development (R&D) Laboratories for General Motors, leads the teams at GM whose mission aims to disrupt traditional automotive industry norms. As VP of Global Innovation, she focuses on business model innovation and oversees new businesses from start-up through scaling. In R&D Fletcher directs seven laboratories located around the world, with concentration on developing technologies such as battery chemistry, mixed materials science, smart manufacturing systems, and vehicle-to-infrastructure technology.
Previously Fletcher oversaw the development of GM’s electric and autonomous vehicle programs. She brings a well-established record of delivering products to market more effectively and ahead of competitors. Her teams were responsible for the Chevrolet Volt and the Bolt EV, the first mass market, long-range car produced at an affordable price point. She also led the team behind Super Cruise, the first hands-free highway driver assist system.Fletcher earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering, at Kettering University in Flint, Mich. and Wayne State University in Detroit, Mich., respectively. She also is a graduate of the Executive Development Program at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, the Stanford Graduate School of Business Transformational Leadership Program, and the Harvard Women on Boards Program.

Volkswagen of America names Kimberley Gardiner to lead marketing
Kimberley will be responsible for leading marketing for VW, including building on the momentum generated by the introduction of Volkswagen’s first all-electric SUV, the ID. 4. She will report to Duncan Movassaghi, executive vice president, sales and marketing for the VW brand in the U.S.
Kimberley brings more than 21 years of automotive experience to her new role. She most recently served as the chief marketing officer for Mitsubishi Motors North America. She joined Mitsubishi from Kia Motors America where she directed marketing efforts for the brand. Previously, she served as CMO and Vice President of Operations for 5th Kind, a global digital asset management company.
Former Aston Martin President Is Rivian EV Marketing Head
Rivian has hired an industry veteran as its first top marketing executive. Laura Schwab, 47, who recently left Aston Martin (elite car manufacturer) where she was president of the Americas, assumes the new role of Rivian vice president of sales and marketing. She will be working from Rivian’s California office to market a vehicle that will initially be for a select few buyers and with the hope it will hit the mass market soon.
Schwab spent 14 years at Jaguar Land Rover in sales and marketing, eventually becoming director of marketing for the Tata owned brands in England before leaving for Aston Martin in 2015. Working first on product configurators, she ultimately became Marketing Director, moving her life to the UK and spending 15 years at what evolved into Jaguar Land Rover.
Olabisi Boyle Joins Hyundai Motor America as the Vice President of Product Planning and Mobility Strategy
Hyundai Motor America is strengthening its leadership team with the addition of Olabisi Boyle as the vice president of Product Planning and Mobility Strategy. Boyle will be responsible for guiding the strategic direction of Hyundai's U.S. vehicle lineup, leading long- and short-range planning, and overseeing market research, business analytics and pricing.
Boyle joins Hyundai from Visa, where she was most recently the vice president of Connected Commerce, leading the Internet of Things, Tap-to-Phone, and Acceptance Cloud payment products. Prior to her Connected Commerce position, she was the vice president of IoT and Connected Car, where she was responsible for expanding Visa's in-car payment technology.
Boyle has 20 years of automotive industry experience, including various engineering, product strategy and manufacturing leadership roles at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Ford Motor Company. At Chrysler, she was the director of Engineering Planning and Technical Cost Reduction and prior to that was the chief engineer for Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan Minivans.
